NO MERCY

Domsgard with Eldruna

Translation

Verse 1

I came back with the rain

on my wool and on my skin

Your ring still in my palm

like a stone I cannot win

Verse 1

The hearth is cold as iron

The table holds your name

I set your cup by the window

and it still tastes the same

Pre-Chorus

I heard your footsteps fading

down the frozen lane

I called your name till dawn broke

and only found the pain

Chorus
Oh, I bend, I break, I bleed
for the ghost you left in me
Take my breath, take my pride
take the fire that made me free
I sing your shadow, I miss your face
I reach through dark, I taste the waste
My hands are empty, my heart won’t heal
No Mercy

Verse 2

Your cloak hangs by the beam now

salt-stiff, torn at the seam

I touch the worn-in shoulders

and fall back into dream

Verse 2

The bones in me remember

the weight of your goodbye

I drink the bitter winter

and let the blue years cry

Pre-Chorus

If mercy ever lived here

it left without a sound

I pressed my ear to sorrow

and heard the whole world drown

Chorus
Oh, I bend, I break, I bleed
for the ghost you left in me
Take my breath, take my pride
take the fire that made me free
I sing your shadow, I miss your face
I reach through dark, I taste the waste
My hands are empty, my heart won’t heal
No Mercy

Bridge

I am the ash, I am the ash

still warm beneath the snow

If you can hear me drifting

then let me know, let me know
